2010 A Note
About my Word Art Templates, please read before you begin snagging them.

Several people have asked me whether if I have the links for my WordArt hidden. I no longer give out links to my word art, what I do now is simply copy each separately from my PB to my blog. I arranged them by themes & every theme has 10 word art templates each saved as .png files.
They are visible whenever I make a new post here in my blog. You will need to right click & save them to your computer, that's how you will be able to get them.

All that I ask for is for you not to rename them, you may use them however you want.

Feeling Lucky

LMC-Results-ByDaira-TutFeelingLucky.gif picture by lovingmiranda
This is what we're making.

Needed:
My Tag tube (Feeling Lucky) Download supplies folder.
A script font of choice (I used Liorah BT) this is a PTU font.
A pixel font of choice (I used PF Mil to add my watermark)
You also need Happy St. Patrick's Day WordArt by Me (download from my supplies folder)
Animation Shop

*Just a little note before we begin, the tag tube was created by me and belongs only to ME, that means that I do not give permission to use it in any other tutorial besides the one I have just written.

Let's begin:

1. Open a New Image in PSP with dimensions 550x500, make background color white. Now add a New Layer.

2. Select your Oil Brush Tool with settings:

Shape: Square - Size: 28 - Foreground & Background color: #fa62b8

3. Now, draw a brush stroke from left to right, make it as long as you'll be able to fit your name.
Draw 2 more brush strokes, one in top of each other; cover empty spaces. This is what I came out with:
LMC-Screenshot1-TutorialFeelingLuck.png SS 1 Feeling Lucky Tut picture by lovingmiranda
4. Change your Foreground & Background color to #9fca3d and draw three more brush strokes on the bottom of your last stroke. You should get something like this:
LMC-Screenshot2-TutorialFeelingLuck.png SS 2 Feeling Lucky Tut picture by lovingmiranda
*Now you see how the colors change when they are mix together? It's like mixing paint with different colors to get different results.

5. Convert your layer to Raster Layer (the one with the brush strokes). And again, start drawing some more strokes using different colors until you get the results you want. Have fun & be creative!
Just a hint: Whenever you change your color, your strokes will be getting dark every time you use your Oil Brush; what I do to get the color I chose, I just brush until I see the color that I picked start showing off, and then delete this layer: Art Media Layer.

6. If you want to use the colors I chose for my tagback, here's the list:
Green: #9fca3d, Yellow: #f4fe4a, Blue: #4afee7 (follow this in order)
And this is what mine looks like:
LMC-Screenshot3-TutorialFeelingLuck.png SS 3 Feeling Lucky Tut picture by lovingmiranda
7. Hide your Background layer & merge all of your layers together. And rename this layer as TagBack. Option, you may flip your image; I flip mine because I rather have the green color on top.

8. Duplicate your Tag Back layer, and change your blend mode to Soft Light or your choice of blend, the one you think looks best. This is done just to make the Tag Back look a little bit more lighter. This is how it looks now:
LMC-Screenshot4-TutorialFeelingLuck.png SS 4 Feeling Lucky Tut picture by lovingmiranda
9. Now open my Feeling Lucky tag tube, copy and paste as New Layer in your working canvas. Rename this layer as tube. Resize your tube - Go to Image - Resize 80% - Smart Size - Resize all layers deselect. Time to rotate - Image - Rotate - Free Rotate - Direction Right at 25 degrees. Hit OK.

10. With your Move Tool, arrange my Feeling Lucky tag tube to the left bottom corner side of the Tag Back; make it look like the tag is on top of the Tag Back touching only the very corner. This how mine looks:
LMC-Screenshot5-TutorialFeelingLuck.png picture by lovingmiranda
11. Duplicate your tube & rotate this time to 50 degrees to the left. Hit OK. Arrange this copy on top of the original tube, again make sure that the tag is touching just a little bit the bottom part of our Tag Back. Duplicate this copy of your Tube, and rotate this time to 25 to the left & arrange just like the previous one. You should have a total of three tube layers, you may sharpen every tube if you like, so it won't look blurry.

12. Add your watermark in a New Layer, move your Watermark layer below your tube layers & arrange wherever you like. Open the Happy St. Patrick's Day WordArt; copy & paste as new layer in your canvas. Rename as Wordart and arrange to the top right corner of the Tag Back.
This is what you should have now:
LMC-Screenshot6-TutorialFeelingLuck.png picture by lovingmiranda
13. Time to add your name. Select your Text tool with settings:
Font: Liorah BT, Size:72, Anti-alas: Sharp, Background Color: White & Foreground: Null, and one more thing.
In your Background palette, there are three options in the bottom which are Color, Texture , & Transparent. Tick in the Texture option, to make your text textured. This is how it looks when selected (my arrow shows you which one is the Texture option):
LMC-Screenshot7-TutorialFeelingLuck.png picture by lovingmiranda
Now that you have your settings set, add a New Layer & type your name. For your first letter of your name, make the text size to 90 and the rest to 72. Hit Ok. If your tag back is smaller than mine, then make your text smaller to fit in. Arrange your name in the middle of the Tag Back or wherever you like best & Deselect. Duplicate your text layer and merge down the two text layers together. Rename as Text.
This is how your tag should look like now:
LMC-Screenshot8-TutorialFeelingLuck.png picture by lovingmiranda
14. Crop any unwanted area. And hide your two copies of your tube.

Time to animate!!!

1. Go to Edit - Copy Merged. And launch your Animation Shop. Paste your copy as New Animation in AS.

2. Go back to your PSP, hide your original Tube layer and unhide your first copy of your tube; Edit - copy merged and paste in your AS After Current Frame. Again, back in PSP hide the copy of your tube layer and unhide the copy of the copy of your tube layer. Copy merged and Paste After Current Frame in AS.

3. Now you should have a total of three frames. Go to Edit - Select All and then Animation - Frame Properties and set the Display time to 40. Play your animation and check your results.

4. Save your tag as .gif

And you have a new tag!!!

Thank you for trying my tutorial, hope you have fun doing it. You can do different tags using this method, just like the one I did, this one:

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas
This is what we're making.

Needed:
LMC Tag back: Merry Christmas by ME (scroll down a bit, right click and save or copy and paste in your PSP)
Gold Pattern (found HERE or you may use whatever you have on hand)
Christmas Dingbats (I used Christmas Regular, Christmas Time, and 2Peas Tis The Season)
2 Script fonts of choice (I used Mea Culpa & 2Peas Piano Recital)
Eye Candy 4000 (Gradient Glow)
Animation Shop

Right click, save to your hard drive and open in PSP:
LMC-Tagback-ByDaira-Tutorial-MerryC.png TagBack Merry Christmas picture by lovingmiranda

1. Paste my tagback as New Layer in PSP on your working canvas with dimensions of 600 x 600. Rename this layer to Tagback.

2. In a New Layer with your Text Tool, set font to whatever dingbat you're using. Use White color as background and foreground null, then choose desire size, mine arranges from 36 to 48; set it to a size that will make the dingbat fit in each square of the tagback. You will need to do this 8 times, so you ended up with a total of 8 Christmas images in each single square. Deselect. Rename this layer as Shapes. Hide your background Layer and merge down together the TagBack and Shapes layer. Rename this layer Tagback & Shapes. You now have this:

LMC-Tutorials-ByDaira-MerryChris-2.png MC I picture by lovingmiranda

3. Unhide your background layer, duplicate your Tagback & Shapes layer. In your layer palette, highlight the original layer and adjust Blur - Gaussian Blur - with Radius of 20 - OK. Now, set the Tagback & Shapes Layer and its copy both to Dissolve blend mode. Your Tagback should dissolve all around, kind of like snow. If you are unsure about how to change the blend mode of your layers, look at my preview:

LMC-Tutorials-ByDaira-MerryChristma.png MC III picture by lovingmiranda

You will see an ellipse around the blend modes that need to be change.

And you should now have something like this:

LMC-Tutorials-ByDaira-MerryChris-1.png MC II picture by lovingmiranda

4. Add a New Layer and rename as Name, Select your Text tool with settings:
Create as: Floating, Font:Mea Culpa, Size:72, Stroke Width:2, Font Style:Bold, Anti-alas:Sharp, Kerning:0 and Line Style: Solid. Open the Gold Pattern in your PSP. And set both, the Foreground and Background as the gold pattern with Angle of 0 and Scale of 100 in your material properties. Type out Merry X-mas or whatever wording you would like, and apply text. Do not Deselect. Go to Selections, Modify, Expand by 1 pixel, hit OK. Add a New Layer, and move this layer below your Text layer. Floodfill this selection with color black. Deselect.

5. Hide all your layers except for the New Layer & Text Layer. Merge down this two layers together, and rename as Text. Apply a Gradient Glow: Glow Width - 3.00, Color choose the Fat option with color White. Give a desire Drop Shadow, I used these settings:
Vertical & Horizontal: 1, Opacity: 50, Blur: 5, Color:Black.

6. Arrange your text however you want, I put mine in the bottom of the tagback. Preview here:

LMC-Tutorials-ByDaira-MerryChris-3.png MC IV picture by lovingmiranda

7. Now add your watermark. And your name, I used font 2Peas Piano Recital with Size 48 and added a slightly Drop Shadow. Arrange your name right below X-mas. Crop off the excess area of your canvas.

8. Open Animation Shop.

9. In PSP go to edit, copy merged and paste it in Animation Shop as New Animation. Go to Animation, Frame Properties and set the Display Time to 125. And now time to animate:

In the layer palette, select the copy of Tagback & Shapes, and set the opacity of this layer to 75. Copy and paste in animation shop After Current Frame. Set the Display Time to 75.

Back in PSP, set the opacity to 50 of the Copy of Tagback & Shapes layer. Copy and paste After Current Frame in AS. Set Display Time to 75.

Again, back in PSP, in the copy of Tagback & Shapes layer set the opacity to 25. Copy and paste After Current Frame in AS and set its Display Time to 75.

Go back to PSP, set the opacity to 0 to the Tagback & Shapes layer. Copy & paste in AS after Current Frame and set Display Time to 75.

And finally, back in PSP set opacity of the Tagback & Shapes layer to 100 (its normal opacity). Copy and paste after Current Frame in AS changing its Display time to 125. You should now have 6 frames total.

10. Still in AS, go to Edit - Select All - Copy - Paste Copy as New Animation, Select All and Reverse Frames (go to Animation). Make sure they are all selected, and copy.

11. Back in your animation (the 6 frames), select the last frame. When selected, you should see a Blue Line around the frame. Now go to Edit, Paste After Current Frame. You should now have 12 frames total.

To make sure that you have a total of 12 frames, check in the bottom right corner of AS, make sure that it marks 12 Frames.

12. Now, time to check if our tag is animated. The Christmas dingbat should appear and disappear in a slow motion. If you are happy with your animation, you can now save and give a fancy name.

*You can also change the display time if the frames if you know how to work with them or did not like how I got mine.

And there you go, you have a new tag special for the Holidays. You can also use the same method to create this kind of tag for any other Holiday. Just grab your dingbats and let your imagination flow!

Thanks for trying my tutorial!
Xoxo
